Creating Texture

Crimping
A successful way to provide texture and volume either layered underneath the hair or backcombed for more volume.
Crimping all the hair and then combing out when cool can make the hair big and textured.
Experimenting with coloured hair and crimping can also provide interesting texture.
-Use a comb underneath the crimper to protect client from burning
-Work from bottom to top

Plaiting / Twists
Another technique for creating interesting texture is plaiting, also combining this with crimping the hair is an interesting textural experiment.

Scrunching / Diffusing
This technique creates effortless beautiful beach type hair. It can look good loosely tied up after this effect or loose.
-It takes 10% water to change the structure of the hair so if the hair is just washed take some of the water out
-Sea salt spray can provide an effective texture for scrunching diffusing hair
-Use a little amount of hair mouse to scrunch the hair
Assist hair in the diffuser until completely dry
Flip hair over to reach the higher parts of the head but remember blood rushes to the head so take care of your client
Use finishing spray if necessary
